Personnel and organisation

On 31 December 2016, Hansel employed 75 people (76 on 31 Dec 2015, 80 on 31 Dec 2014). The average number of personnel employed by Hansel in 2016 was 73 (73 in 2015 and 75 in 2014). Women accounted for 52 per cent of all personnel and 60 per cent of Executive Committee members. The average age of employees was 44. At the end of the accounting period, all employees held permanent employment contracts (97 per cent in 2015 and 96 per cent in 2014).

Education-wise, 61 per cent of employees hold a Master’s degree, and 19 per cent a Bachelor’s degree or a degree from a university of applied sciences. 13 per cent of employees had completed secondary education, and 7 per cent had no vocational qualifications. The company’s incentive system covers all permanent employees. Hansel adheres to the guidelines on management and key employee rewards and incentives issued by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Policy.

In 2016, ten new employees were hired, one of them on a fixed-term contract. Eleven employees left the company during the year. Of those who left, nine resigned, and the fixed-term contracts for two ended.

Hansel Academy, the project for an expertise development strategy for Hansel’s personnel was continued in accordance with the plan. The training programme was assembled on the basis of an expertise survey. The goal is to enhance and diversify the company’s expertise-related resources. The company’s employees participated in five training days on average during 2016.

Personnel’s well-being and working capacity are regularly surveyed. The occupational well-being survey carried out in 2016 found that occupational well-being is at a good level, 3.7 on a scale of 1-5. Training and discussion sessions are regularly arranged for supervisors in connection with their work.

Sustainable development, environmental factors and the grey economy

Within public procurement, themes relating to corporate responsibility and combating the grey economy are playing an increasingly important role. In its activities, Hansel adheres to the principles of corporate responsibility, in line with the Government policies.

Corporate responsibility reporting is integrated with the company’s annual reporting practices and provides detailed coverage of all measures related to responsibility.
